First off, I can not believe I have been married for almost a year. It is still weird introducing Jack as my Husband.
On Monday, April 22nd, will mark our 1 Year Anniversary. Let me tell you, it has proved true that your first year of marriage is possibly one of the toughest. I have no idea if it will be our "toughest" but it was definitely tough to adjust.
After we were married, everything was great. Our wedding event was not exactly what I had expected. But it has provided some memories. Lots of GREAT memories. And some not so great.
All the same, it was mine and Jack's day. We were unfortunately unable to take a honeymoon, with me just starting a new position at work (a recruiter) and him having a big deal that was a few months from launching. The timing just didn't work out. I think this will be something that both of us will regret not doing, but we will take one some day!
In this year, just this year we have had a lot of ups and downs. In fact, in our whole relationship we have had ups and downs, more than I think most relationships have in there beginnings. I think all of it has for the most part made us stronger. If everything tough is in the beginning and we can get through it will flying colors and stronger then ever.... then the rest will hopefully be a piece of cake. At least that's the idea, right?!?
So as we near the end of our first year of marriage these are the changes that we are going through. I started a new job in September and I am still trying to get used to it. Jack's direct boss quit in December so this has presented a few changes with Jack's company, some good and some bad (hopefully it presents a promotion and a raise... he deserves it). We are in search of a new house to buy, but the housing market is not what it was a year ago... but that's okay, it gives us more time to get a bigger down payment. We are also planning on starting a family. We think that possible starting sometime after June works well. I say June just because by then we will have a better idea with what is going on with Jack's work and we can concentrate on other things. Hopefully he wont have to travel as much.
Let's see what the next few weeks present...
